]]> Saylor-Beall is extremely pleased to announce full implementation of our new 16 pallet dual machining center. The machining cell includes two Mazak HCN 6000 machining centers complete with 120 tool pocket magazines. The machines are state of the art, with higher speeds and more repeat accuracy than possible in with older style machining centers.
The machines are supplied by a common 16 pallet loading station that feeds either machine and provides an easy backup of parts if there is any down time on one machine.
The investment in this equipment is another commitment by Saylor-Beall to “Made in the USA” and control of our internal quality. While we are replacing two older style six pallet machines, our new system is 40% faster and has added substantially to our plant capacity without requiring any additional plant square footage.

]]> Saylor-Beall engaged in a new version of air freight last month that was above and beyond anything we had ever done.

There was a customer with such urgent need to replace an old 707 compressor pump that he sent a helicopter to get a replacement.   Of course the pump was in stock.

But it was not legal to land a chopper at our plant.   As a result, one of our employees, who lives outside the city volunteered his residence as a pickup point.   The helicopter landed on the property, they loaded the compressor pump and the customer’s air system was back in place within a few hours!
